Having More

People from different race, religions, educational backgrounds are all striving and working everyday for that one goal of having more. Having more money, more happiness, more satisfying life or maybe just more meaning to their existence. But what does it really take to have more? How do people really define it and how to actually achieve it? Or maybe the right question is, do people really stop from wanting to have more?

Truth is, it’s human nature to always want for more. Maybe this is one reason why many people live a frustrating life. Maybe the very moment that people stop from wanting to have more is the moment that they have achieved their own definition of success. So here are the tips that may help you “have more” in whatever areas of your life.

1.Precision. It’s no question that people want more from life. People want more money, a better job, a better car, a better house but they aren’t really very precise. When I spoke to young professionals last year, I asked them who wanted to be debt free. Everyone raised their hands. When I asked who among them know exactly how much their debts were; I didn’t see any hand raising. That was surprising.

They were aware that they had debts and I could feel their sincerity of wanting to be debt free. However, no one knew exactly how much they had to pay. They wanted to be debt free but it seemed like nobody really wanted to take the necessary actions to achieve that goal.

Precision is very important. You can’t just say “I want to have more money.” You have to be precise on how much exactly you mean by that. It’s the same as dreaming a brand-new car without knowing how much it would cost you. How could you plan on saving for something when you don’t have an idea how much you should save? I have learned that if I honestly want to have more, I have to be specific and decide which area in my life that I desire for an improvement. Is it about my health? My finances? My relationships? I have to be precise to make a clear action plan towards it. Until then, these desires will stay as wishful thinking and not a clear goal.

2. Becoming More. Having more simply means becoming more. Contrary to what people believe that becoming more comes after acquiring some sort of fortune or miracle, you have to understand that if you want better results then you have to become better first just like how work comes before success.

One of the richest man in the world today, Warren Buffet, had impressive school records before he became the Oracle of Omaha. Because of his interest in business and investing, he entered Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania before graduating from University of Nebraska. He also went on from Columbia Business School before finally attending New York Institute of Finance to learn more about his economics background. Having said that, his decisions when it comes to business and investing was neither genius or fluke. It was carefully thought of, planned, and studied.

The whole point is that if you want to have more, then you should become more first. You have to invest in acquiring skills that will add more value to your earning ability. If you want higher salary, then I advise you to enroll in some short courses or attend seminars that could help you become better in your field. Invest in yourself. Buy books, attend seminars, learn from other people. The more you know, the higher your value will become.

3.  Perseverance. I always say that talents open doors of opportunities but perseverance seizes them. You can be the most talented person in the world, but without perseverance, sleepless nights, and sweats, you will always stay where you are. If you want to double up the money in your bank account, then you have to double up your efforts as well. There’s no such thing as sitting down and waiting for miracles to simply happen even thru positive thinking. It doesn’t happen that way. The self-made millionaires today, even the multi-billionaires didn’t make it overnight. There is a process. You have to invest your time and effort. Even Warren Buffet spent long years of studying his field of interest and it required a lot of patience and money. I haven’t seen a person who achieved so much without doing his fair share of efforts.

Truth is, everyone has the capability of having more but not everyone is willing to do more. Most people are aware that they are stuck living an average life but only few decided to get out of their comfort zone and start doing what’s not easy. The only thing that hinders people from having more is not really wanting it bad enough. The distance between your dream and where you are right now is that one word called decision. You may dream of having more or you may live in it. The decision is always yours. -M.D.

What the Elites Don’t Want You to Know

‘You are the author of your life.’ I’m sure you have heard this a thousand times before as this cliché has been said by a lot of great speakers to motivate their audience. But somehow, you most likely believe that some lives are authored by bloodline especially for people who are born with a silver spoon in the mouth. And you know that the quote ‘ You are the author of your life ’ is only applicable to regular people so that they couldn’t blame anyone for the poverty and scarcity they experience. -The Trap- Now let me tell you some truths that might shock the very core of you. The things that the world and the media has led you to believe are façade and lies to stop you from being free from the trap. And when I say trap, I mean that 9-5 job you’ve signed for. Trap is the routine that you do, an endless cycle of going to work, receiving your paycheck monthly, that’s not even enough to cover all the dues. Trap is also the miserable and dangerous world that you believe you are ...

A Gem Not Far From a Crowded City

Is your dream house unaffordable? Try looking for it in Fergus.   Fergus is the largest community in Centre Wellington, a township within Wellington County in Ontario and it is just a bit over one hour drive from Mississauga and Toronto. It lies on the Grand River about 18 km NNW of Guelph. The population of this community at the time of the 2016 Census was 20,767, but the community is growing as new homes are being built for sale. Fergus became an independent town until 1999 when the Township was formed by amalgamating Fergus, the Village of Elora, Ontario and the Townships of Nichol, Pilkington, West Garafraxa and a part of Eramosa. Fergus is has a number of natural settings such as the Elora Gorge and Conservation Area, and Belwood Lake. It is a mostly residential community filled with streets lined with trees, many stone buildings, modern schools, and many parklands suitable for recreation and picnics. It is laid out on a rectangular grid, with the Grand R...

Three Things Every Businessman Must Have

Maybe you are curious what it takes to be a successful businessman. Truth is, the things that I had learned more from them by merely observing them is twice as much than what I learned from the entire time I sat on my business management class from college. Here are the three things I believe that every successful businessman should have regardless of the field or business industry you are in.  1. Consistent Energy. In anything, consistency is always the name of the game. In business, consistency of the energy is one deciding factor whether the business will prosper or not. What is very consistent with all the successful people is the fire, the drive, and the passion. They just don’t let the vibe die. I guess enthusiasm is the word.  If you are not as enthusiastic and excited as before, your clients/customers would actually feel it. Whether you believe it or not, everything is made up of energy. Even your place of business has a vibe itself. I can still remember when...
