The Secret to Networking

One of the most important elements in business is networking. By definition, networking is simply the act of connecting with people to exchange information and develop relationship for mutual growth. For some people, especially the shy ones, building a strong networking comes as a challenge. I am an introvert myself and connecting with people is something that is not natural for me. However, these few steps in networking has helped me to build a strong networking and connect with other people and organization fast and effectively thus, affiliating becomes easy.

1. Attending events and seminars. If you want to build networking, you really have to make time attending for events. You may start attending events which the attendees have the same interests with you. It’s easier to connect with people you can easily relate too. A simple art exhibit in your town, if you are into paintings and arts, is actually a good start. Once you make friends with people there, you may exchange your contacts and develop a stronger connection with them. Being part of an active group that shares common interest is the easiest way to build a network.

2. Find ways to help. You don’t encourage people to support your business right away. Instead, you should try to build rapport with them during the first stage of networking. The best way for people to remember you or to get noticed in a group is when you are willing to help any possible way you can. Helping others do not always equate to money. Sometimes, helping them simply means finding opportunities for them. For example, if one person in the group owns restaurant or offer catering services, you may endorse him to other friends, thus, making your network bigger. In business, relationships are investment. If you help other people, they will soon help you too.

3. Participate in Good Cause Projects. Participating projects for a cause that you believe in is one more way to expand your network. By doing this, you will know a lot of people that are willing to help one another, thus setting a positive tone on a group that you belong to. It’s like building your network and participating in a project for a cause at the same time.

4. Breaking Limitations and Divisions. The number one mistake in networking is not growing and being stuck with just one group. If you are seriously into expanding your network, then I suggest you start breaking limitations and divisions and that means joining other groups that you are not very familiar with. For example, if you’re in food business, don’t get stuck with people who are in the same industry. Explore some other networks like real estate or stock exchange and learn to create opportunities with them. Do not also limit yourself from people in the same age as yours. Old and experienced entrepreneurs are the best teachers when it comes to growing your business.

5. Arranging events. Once you have expanded your networks, it’s also good to arrange events once in awhile to develop and enhance your relationship with your network. By this time, you have enough confidence to interact with different kinds of entrepreneurs and in the process, you are also helping others to expand their networks.

What the Elites Don’t Want You to Know

‘You are the author of your life.’ I’m sure you have heard this a thousand times before as this cliché has been said by a lot of great speakers to motivate their audience. But somehow, you most likely believe that some lives are authored by bloodline especially for people who are born with a silver spoon in the mouth. And you know that the quote ‘ You are the author of your life ’ is only applicable to regular people so that they couldn’t blame anyone for the poverty and scarcity they experience. -The Trap- Now let me tell you some truths that might shock the very core of you. The things that the world and the media has led you to believe are façade and lies to stop you from being free from the trap. And when I say trap, I mean that 9-5 job you’ve signed for. Trap is the routine that you do, an endless cycle of going to work, receiving your paycheck monthly, that’s not even enough to cover all the dues. Trap is also the miserable and dangerous world that you believe you are ...

A Gem Not Far From a Crowded City

Is your dream house unaffordable? Try looking for it in Fergus.   Fergus is the largest community in Centre Wellington, a township within Wellington County in Ontario and it is just a bit over one hour drive from Mississauga and Toronto. It lies on the Grand River about 18 km NNW of Guelph. The population of this community at the time of the 2016 Census was 20,767, but the community is growing as new homes are being built for sale. Fergus became an independent town until 1999 when the Township was formed by amalgamating Fergus, the Village of Elora, Ontario and the Townships of Nichol, Pilkington, West Garafraxa and a part of Eramosa. Fergus is has a number of natural settings such as the Elora Gorge and Conservation Area, and Belwood Lake. It is a mostly residential community filled with streets lined with trees, many stone buildings, modern schools, and many parklands suitable for recreation and picnics. It is laid out on a rectangular grid, with the Grand R...

Three Things Every Businessman Must Have

Maybe you are curious what it takes to be a successful businessman. Truth is, the things that I had learned more from them by merely observing them is twice as much than what I learned from the entire time I sat on my business management class from college. Here are the three things I believe that every successful businessman should have regardless of the field or business industry you are in.  1. Consistent Energy. In anything, consistency is always the name of the game. In business, consistency of the energy is one deciding factor whether the business will prosper or not. What is very consistent with all the successful people is the fire, the drive, and the passion. They just don’t let the vibe die. I guess enthusiasm is the word.  If you are not as enthusiastic and excited as before, your clients/customers would actually feel it. Whether you believe it or not, everything is made up of energy. Even your place of business has a vibe itself. I can still remember when...
